The Greater Ravalli FoundationThe Greater Ravalli Foundation was formed in 2002 to help fill in the gaps of the crumbling public education financial situation in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. The daughter of a Stock Farm member brought the issue to the forefront when, unbeknownst to her parents, she started taking extra peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school to share with friends who could not afford the school lunches. From this, the Foundation has grown into a strong organization that has given over $1.5 million since October 2002 to education and sustenance programs in the Bitterroot Valley. |

Project BitterrootA deep love of the Bitterroot Valley prompted The Greater Ravalli Foundation Board of Directors to launch Project Bitterroot, the yearlong campaign to raise the initial $2 million needed to establish The Greater Ravalli Foundation Scholarship Endowment and ensure the distribution of 20 scholarships per year. Through matching grants we can double that and build a $4 million endowment, but we need your support. We are calling on all donors to give what they would over the next three years in a single donation to the endowment this year. Of course, any and all donations to Project Bitterroot are welcome. Another component of Project Bitterroot is to begin an effort to encourage Foundation scholarship recipients to come back to the Bitterroot Valley after graduation to serve as positive role models and to invest in the growth and success of their communities. Right now, scholarship recipients receive $4,000 each year for two years toward the school of their choice. Starting next year, if they choose to stay at a Montana state school, recipients will receive funding from various other scholarship funds for the following two years – covering their entire four-year education and keeping them in Montana. By being a part of Project Bitterroot, and an inaugural donor to The Greater Ravalli Foundation Scholarship Endowment, you are doing something greater than yourself. Your generosity today will ensure a healthy future for the children of the Bitterroot. Click here to see Project Bitterroot's progress |
