Ravalli Foundation for children.

The Greater Ravalli Foundation

The Greater Ravalli Foundation was formed in 2002 to help fill in the gaps of the crumbling public education financial situation in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.

The daughter of a Stock Farm member brought the issue to the forefront when, unbeknownst to her parents, she started taking extra peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school to share with friends who could not afford the school lunches. From this, the Foundation has grown into a strong organization that has given over $1.5 million since October 2002 to education and sustenance programs in the Bitterroot Valley.

The Greater Ravalli Foundation supports school children in need.

Welcome

In Montana, one in five children under the age of 6 live below the federal poverty level. To help battle poverty for school children in the Bitterroot Valley; Jim Schueler and Jim Coté founded The Greater Ravalli Foundation.

The Greater Ravalli Foundation Board is comprised of a group of compassionate individuals that have a sincere desire to reach out and give back to the local community.

Did you know?

Bitterroot flower and The Greater Ravalli Foundation for Education.Every part of the Bitterroot plant can be used for sustenance, just as The Greater Ravalli Foundation has and will continue to put almost 100% of every dollar back into its programs.

Historically, the Bitterroot plant was extremely valuable -- a sack-full could be traded for a horse. The Foundation is a valuable program to Ravalli County.

A Bitterroot plant can live for a year without water. By creating the endowment, the Foundation can sustain its scholarship program for many years without being reliant on yearly donations.

In May and June, pink flowers bloom on each stem of the Bitterroot plant. The Greater Ravalli Foundation Scholarship Endowment will help Ravalli County grow and prosper for generations to come.
